2025 BYD Denza D9: Launched with powerful updates, know its features
China’s leading electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has launched the 2025 model of its luxury MPV Denza D9. Launched on December 26, 2024, this model is getting many powerful updates. Let’s know about the features of 2025 Denza D9.
Updated powertrain: Both hybrid and electric options
The 2025 Denza D9 comes with two types of powertrain options – plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV). The PHEV model has a combination of a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor. The single motor BEV model gets 230 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque, while the dual motor BEV model gets slightly more power and torque. The company has not yet revealed the range of both the options, but it is expected to be better than the previous model.
High-level smart drive system and BYD’s latest DM technology
The biggest change in the 2025 Denza D9 is seen in its smart drive system. Now it comes with a high-level smart drive system, which makes driving even more safe and comfortable. It includes many features of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring. Apart from this, the PHEV model also gets BYD’s latest fifth-generation DM (dual mode) technology, which provides better fuel efficiency and performance. This technology ensures seamless switching between electric and petrol engines.
No change in luxurious interior and great design
There has been no significant change in the exterior design of the 2025 Denza D9. It has the same luxury and sporty look as the earlier model. However, there has been no significant change in the interior as well. It comes with a 7 or 4 seat layout as before. You get features like a 15.6-inch floating screen, a 10.25-inch instrument panel and a head-up display. Apart from this, screens have also been provided in the back and armrest of the second row seats, which can be used for entertainment and control. Premium upholstery, ambient lighting and excellent sound system make this MPV even more luxurious.
Will the 2025 BYD Denza D9 come to India?
At present, BYD has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of the 2025 Denza D9 in India. Denza is a joint venture between BYD and Daimler (the parent company of Mercedes-Benz), which focuses primarily on the Chinese market. However, given the growing popularity of the MPV segment in India, BYD may consider bringing this model to the Indian market in the future.
The 2025 BYD Denza D9 is a very attractive luxury MPV with its updated powertrain and high-level smart drive system. It will further strengthen its hold in the Chinese market. It will be interesting to see whether it will make its way to India as well.
