Honor made waves at MWC 2026 in Barcelona by unveiling its bold "Robot Phone," a concept smartphone that blends robotics with everyday mobile tech. This isn't just another flagship—it's a device with a motorized camera arm that extends, rotates, and stabilizes for creative shooting, powered by what Honor calls the industry's smallest 4DoF gimbal system.

The standout feature is the 200-megapixel main sensor mounted on this robotic arm. It pops out from the rear panel when needed, locks onto moving subjects for smooth tracking, and enables hands-free vlogging or video recording. The gimbal offers full stabilization, extension, and rotation, making it ideal for creators who want dynamic shots without extra gear.

Adding a fun, futuristic twist, the camera module responds to AI interactions with physical movements—like nodding or shaking "its head" when you talk to the assistant. Honor even demoed it dancing to music beats, giving the phone a playful personality.

When not in use, the arm retracts neatly into the body, keeping the design sleek. While full specs (processor, battery, display, etc.) remain under wraps, Honor emphasized durable materials similar to those in its foldable hinges for reliable movement.

The Robot Phone is slated for commercial release in China during the second half of 2026, with no word yet on global availability or pricing. It positions Honor as a innovator in a market where premium phones often look alike, especially amid rising component costs.

Alongside this, Honor launched the Magic V6 foldable—its thinnest yet, with impressive durability (including high IP ratings) and a large battery—but the Robot Phone stole the spotlight as a glimpse into more interactive, embodied AI experiences on smartphones.

If you're into cutting-edge mobile tech, this could redefine what a "smart" phone can do. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch window.
